In a recent visit to the Monterey Presidio, I was talking to a state ranger and Huell Howser’s name came up.

This ranger said, "I met Huell about five years ago and again six months ago.

"He remembered my name. His aw shucks country attitude masked a superior intellect, a huge curiosity, and a love of people and the state of California."

Huell, your presence in our lives was truly golden.
