Two locals arrested for vandalism

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies arrested Nicholas Prieto, 23, of Valencia, and Gennaro Siano, 18, of Saugus, after they allegedly smashed vehicle mirrors and stole property Wednesday.

Saugus residents reported vandals driving around the area smashing vehicle side mirrors with a baseball bat Wednesday, according to a Sheriff’s Station news release.

Deputies located the vehicle where they located suspect Prieto, 23, suspect Siano, 18, of Saugus, and two juvenile passengers. All four suspects were arrested for vandalism and receiving stolen property, the news release read.

Deputies located additional stolen electronic items at two of the suspects homes. More electronic items were located during the investigative searches.  

Siano and Prieto were charged with felony fandalism, the release read. The two juveniles were released.

Detectives ask citizens who failed to report that their electronic items were recently taken from their unlocked or locked vehicles in the Saugus area to contact Detective O’Neill at (661) 799-5154.
