A person used a false identification card and attempted to make fraudulent purchases Saturday at a jewelry store in Westfield Valencia Town Center, according to an official.

Lt. Bill Weiss of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station said the individual tried to make the purchase a little after 2 p.m.

Deputies responded to the scene shortly thereafter but were unable to locate the suspect. Nothing was stolen in the incident.
