Local sheriff’s deputies arrested a man who used a shopping cart to steal a TV from the Walmart store in Stevenson Ranch Tuesday, a sheriff’s spokesman said.

Shortly after 2:30 p.m., deputies of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the Walmart on The Old Road at Pico Canyon Road for reports of a man crossing store parking lot with a stolen TV in a shopping cart, said Lt. Tom Bryski.

“They detained one guy,” Bryski said.

Deputies intercepted the suspect without incident as he made his way across the lot.

The theft occurred one day after two men stole at least two computers from the same store and ran out of the store to a waiting car, said Lt. Mark Hershey of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

No arrests have been made in connection with Monday’s theft.
