Letter: Gun control ideas for the US government

There are two “ideas” which I would like both Gov. Brown and President Obama to consider, since they both are promoting plans which they expect John Q. Public (us!) to “accept” as worthy.

My requests are:

1) To make the White House, governor’s mansion, federal and state buildings, and events all gun-free areas — just as regular citizens must do. (That would mean no military or Secret Service carrying guns.)

2) To re-evaluate the enormous pensions of all elected and appointed persons, judges, and all of their employees. It would immensely lower the budget and help to correct deficit spending.

How about my ideas, Sacramento and Washington, D.C.? I would really like to hear your opinions, since you consider gun control and reduced pensions good ideas for the rest of us!
