A 14-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital following a collision between a car and the bicycle he was riding, officials confirmed.

About 2 p.m. Monday, paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to reports of a cyclist injured in a traffic collision at the intersection of Magic Mountain Parkway and Town Center Drive, said Supervisor Melanie Flores.

“We got it as an auto versus bicycle,” she said. “A 14-year-old male with a lower leg fracture was taken to the hospital.”

Paramedics were dispatched to the collision at 2:09 p.m.

The boy was taken to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles by helicopter.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

“The injured person suffered a broken leg and was airlifted to Children’s Hospital,” said Lt. Mark Hershey of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
