Saturday’s Frisbee golf tournament raised more than $1,500 for Kevin Korenthal, a cyclist who was injured in a head-on collision with a vehicle near Sand Canyon Road.
Event organizer Steve Petzold said about 30 people showed up for the event at Santa Clarita Central Park.
Petzold said he delivered the money directly to Korenthal, who is still recovering from his injuries at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital.
Korenthal’s wife, Christine, said Sunday that it will still be a couple more days “at least” before he can leave the hospital.
Christine Korenthal also said she was incredibly grateful for all the support the community had shown her and her family.
“Never for a second have I felt alone or felt that my family was isolated at all,” she said. “I’ve just had so much support and that has really kept mine and Kevin’s spirits up.”
