The Hart girls soccer team may have finally hit its stride.

After some early season struggles finding their footing under first-year head coach Justin Lundin, the Indians capped an undefeated showing at their own Hart Soccer Showcase with a 3-0 victory over Quartz Hill on Saturday afternoon at Hart High School.

After going eight game without a victory to start the season, Hart is 6-0-1 in its last seven games, including a perfect 5-0 during the tournament.

The Indians (6-4-5) advanced to the championship game by defeating league rivals Golden Valley (1-0) and Canyon (3-0) in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively.

The Indians jumped on Quartz Hill early, when Michaela Rickard scored in the 12th minute for a 1-0 lead that held up entering the half.

Just two minutes into the second, Sophia Cortes added the Indians second goal before tacking on another in the 59th minute for her second goal of the game and a commanding 3-0 lead.

The Indians will play one more game, against Buena at home on Wednesday at 3:15 p.m., before opening league play against West Ranch on the road on Jan. 8.
