State officials have revoked the accounting license for Wendy J. Zinn and Associates, a Newhall certified public accounting firm, due to several violations and irregularities, officials announced.

The California Board of Accountancy stripped the firm of its license effective Wednesday after several clients lodged complaints against the firm’s proprietor, Wendy Zinn.

Three separate clients lodged complaints against Zinn, with two accusing her of failing to prepare necessary tax documents in 2006 and 2008.

Zinn also never responded to inquiries or a subpoena from the Board of Accountancy related to those complaints, according to state documents.

This was not Zinn’s first run-in with the board. She was placed on probation, had her license suspended for 90 days and was instructed to take professional-education courses in 2006 due to a variety of violations, according to documents.

Those violations included practicing with an expired license, failing to complete necessary training hours and making false statements to the board during her license-renewal application process in 2002.
