A small fire started at 16904 Sierra Highway this afternoon but firefighters doused the flames within 13 minutes, a department spokesman said.

The fire was contained to a large, metal container used for storing merchandise and did not spread to any surrounding structures, the spokesman said.

The fire was extinguished by 1:26 p.m.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, according to the spokesman. The extent of damage to the facility and property inside was also unclear.
