Last time we reviewed the Anejo Shark, paired with Louis Xlll cognac. This week we'll pair the LFD Mysterio Oscuro with a bourbon whiskey.

I first became acquainted with this fine cigar while visiting the Dominican Republic, and in the company of Litto Gomez, the owner of LFD (La Flor Dominica). Litto opened the doors of his factory to me and, once again, I began a journey into the fine world of cigars.

Litto is a hands-on cigar maker and was anxious to share one of his latest creations with me. With an Ecuadorian Sumatra Oscuro wrapper, fairly dark and rich in color, and Dominican tobacco filler, this cigar starts off with hints of floral. It progresses nicely, with notes of spice and leather, and an earthy and nutty chocolate swirling over the palate.

Paired with a fine bourbon whiskey, such as Maker’s Mark, the experience is enjoyable, as the cigar and the whiskey join each other in a savory pleasure.

Experiences like this remind me just how good the cigar Industry has been to me. The friends I have made over the last 20-plus years in this business are counted in my many blessings in life.

I thanked Litto for sharing his latest treasure with me, and asked when I could take delivery of these very fine cigars. And guess what?

They're here now for your smoking pleasure. Please, join me for a smoke.

Relax and Enjoy.
