Plum Canyon Elementary School in Saugus recently celebrated its Reflections art program participants and winners with “The Magic of a Moment” at its annual Reflections Gala.

Reflections is a national PTA program that provides opportunities for students to express themselves creatively and to receive positive recognition for original works of art inspired by a pre-selected theme, while increasing community awareness on the importance of the arts in education.

Plum Canyon Elementary students from grades Kindergarten through sixth created 145 works of art in the categories of photography, visual arts, literature, dance, video and music.

The program attracted 116 student participants.

Fourteen works of art received the Award of Excellence and will move on to be judged at the Santa Clarita Valley Council PTA level.

This year’s theme, “The Magic of a Moment” was celebrated at the gala with SCV magician Brian Hoffman, who performed walk around magic for the gala attendees as well as a mini magic show to cap off the evening.

Congratulations to all of the Plum Canyon Elementary Reflections participants and award winners.
