SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) — Eleven people aboard a marijuana-laden panga smuggler boat have been arrested on a remote Santa Barbara County beach.
A Coast Guard aircraft crew spotted the 30-foot boat off San Nicholas Island and heading for shore early Wednesday.
The twin-engine boat was carrying 11 people, including illegal immigrants from Mexico, tanks with fuel and about 3,000 pounds of marijuana.
The Santa Barbara News-Press (http://bit.ly/RrzVsG ) says the boat landed between Gaviota State Park and the Hollister Ranch area.
