The Southern California Chapter of the American Public Works Association has named Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich the chapter’s “Elected Official of the Year,” Antonovich’s office announced Tuesday.

Antonovich received the award due to his commitment to public works, such as the Rosemead Boulevard Beautification Project, and his commitment to regional transportation options in his role as chairman of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the news release said.
