Nearly 30 seniors from the William S. Hart Union High School District recently visited the broadcast facility of Dial Global in the Santa Clarita Valley.
David Felker, vice president of programming for Dial Global, said the students received a tour of the studios followed by a question-and-answer session with some of the station’s department heads in programming, sports, production, air-talent and management.
Dial Global Radio Network (formally Westwood One) has been located in the SCV since 1993 in the Valencia Industrial Park.
The facility produces 24/7 music formats, music entertainment shows like Rock Line and The Whitney Allen Show, and sports programming for the NFL, NCAA and MLB.
The event was organized by Pam Malowe, career development coordinator for the William S. Hart Union High School District.
Students selected for the visit have career interests in the broadcast or recording industry, said Felker.
