Art Lian: Horton’s columns will be missed

Early last week I heard Gary Horton’s column has ended. As to why, it remains unclear.

His articles were always thought-provoking and down to earth. His comments were the thinking of many and his words, somehow, were easily heard.

He spoke with clarity as he laid out his views.

As a local writer, I thought his reflections touched us all. He said what many were thinking but lack the outlet for expression.

His comments on social and economic issues made us more aware of the human and spiritual needs we have toward ourselves and others.

Although I will miss his column, the community will be at a greater loss.
