The Master’s College baseball team opened up its season at Reese Field Friday with a 12-1 victory over Patten University of Oakland.

The Mustangs received multiple-RBI games from each of their two through five hitters.

Right fielder Eric Blackwell led the charge, going 3-for-4 with a double, stolen base and three RBIs.

TMC jumped on Patten in the first inning with three runs, keyed by Caleb Mintz’s two RBI double.

The Mustangs added three more runs in the second inning, to jump out to a 6-0 advantage.

The Lions allowed five passed balls in the frame.

Mustangs starting pitcher Graham Miller went four innings, allowing one run and striking out three in the seven-inning game.

Pete Goeman went 1-for-4, scored three runs and stole a pair of bases.

Joe Zeller, Tyler Diamond and Mintz all knocked in two runs each.

Diamond’s two-RBI single added three runs in the bottom of the seventh to set the score at 12-1.

The same teams will meet in a doubleheader today, weather permitting.

Game one begins at 11 a.m. at Reese Field.
