The State Water Contractors said recent storms in Northern California have given California’s water supply a boost statewide.

“Storage is up in key reservoirs, which will help us get through potential dry spells in 2013,” said Terry Erlewine, general manager for the State Water Contractors. “We are by no means out of the woods, but the hope is that we’ll get enough precipitation throughout the winter to bring State Water Project allocations up to a reasonable amount.”

The State Water Contractors is a statewide, non-profit association of 27 public agencies that purchase water under contract from the California State Water Project. In times of drought, supplies to the agencies is reduced.
