	Hundreds support Run for Hunger

	Placerita Junior High School captured the team trophy at the 19th annual Run for Hunger held at Newhall Park. They team fielded the most runners taking part in the event. View More » 1 2

The Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry’s 19th Annual Run Against Hunger attracted more than 300 participants to support the SCV Food Pantry.

The event was held at Newhall Park in Newhall.

Placerita Junior High School won the first place team trophy with the most runners taking part in the Run Against Hunger.

The team from Sierra Vista Junior High School came in second.

News personality Rick Chambers, of Saugus, emceed the event.

The 1K Kiddie Run was organized by Girl Scout Troop #7392 and included a surprise appearance by the Valencia KIA Hamstar.
