The Santa Clarita Valley Corvette Club recently presented a check in the amount of $4,100 to the Painted Turtle Camp, located in Lake Elizabeth.

The funds were the proceeds from the recent All-Corvette Car Show held at Route 66 Classic Grill in Canyon Country.

Nick Buro, community relations coordinator for the Painted Turtle, accepted the check for the camp .

Buro told Corvette Club members at their monthly meeting that the funds will “go far in assisting children who participate in camp programs.”

The Painted Turtle is a non-profit organization where children with serious medical conditions are offered the chance to attend camp like other children.

Through camp-based programs that offer fun and support, children with more than 30 medical conditions visit The Painted Turtle each year.

The Painted Turtle is a member of Paul Newman’s renowned Serious Fun Camps (formerly the Association of Hole in the Wall Camps).

The Painted Turtle has offered thousands of children and their families hope and encouragement through its summer and family weekend camps since it opened its gates in 2004.
