A vehicle collided with a light pole at the Golden Valley Road off ramp of southbound state Route 14 earlier this afternoon, possibly exposing live electrical wires for a time, according to officials.

The collision occurred when a vehicle ran into a light pole after exiting the freeway around 12:20 p.m., according to California Highway Patrol Officer Monica Posada.

Posada said, as of 1:05 p.m., it appeared there were reports of live electrical wires at the scene of the crash.

Because the incident occurred off of the freeway, the investigation has been turned over to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Lt. Mark Hershey with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station said there do not appear to be any traffic interruptions as a result of the collision.
