Letter: Just be glad you have a job

I want to wish all the unions of America a very well-deserved congratulations for being the primary instrument in getting 18,000 Hostess employees laid off at Thanksgiving/Christmas time.

So much joy will be had by those employees while the slimy union thugs sit back in their warm, cozy houses and experience a large dining room table filled with all sorts of food paid for by the dues of laid-off employees.

Movies are made of actions such as these, usually mafia movies about the union slugs.

It is said that unions are a necessary evil, which I truly believe. They strong-armed Hostess right into bankruptcy.

The article that I read made reference to the amount of money paid out by Hostess to exorbitant pensions, etc., and it just sounded criminal to me.

Those employees had a job. Now they join the ranks of the millions of other unemployed people in the nation.

There are thousands of people out there who are waiting in line to take your job if you don’t want it. Keep your jobs and get rid of the unions or step aside and let someone else do it — they will be thankful they have a job.

As I said before, the unions are a necessary evil, but for the life of me I cannot see their worth. The unions plan their protest on the busiest days of the year at LAX and turn a happy holiday into a nightmare for the people trying to get out of town to see loved ones. That makes you and your unions hated.

Don’t take your frustrations out on us; take it out on the company you work for.

Anyway, I have had my say. To the protesters, “Get a life.” To the unions, “Bah, humbug.”
