L.A. County prosecutors filed murder, attempted-murder and other charges against Jade Douglas Harris, who is accused of killing three people and wounding two others at a business and nearby home in suburban Downey.

DOWNEY, Calif. (AP) — A Southern California man has pleaded not guilty to murder and attempted murder charges stemming from a shooting at a fire extinguisher business and a nearby home in Downey last month.

Los Angeles County prosecutors say 30-year-old Jade Douglas Harris entered his plea Wednesday and remains behind bars. He could face the death penalty, but prosecutors haven't made a decision yet on whether to seek capital punishment.

Authorities say Harris went to the family-owned shop in response to an Internet ad offering a 2010 black Camaro for sale. Two employees were killed there and a woman was shot in the face but survived.

Harris then allegedly kidnapped the owner's sister-in-law and her son to a nearby home where the car was located. The woman was killed but her son survived.
