A traffic collision Thursday evening knocked out power to 3,001 homes in Canyon Country, said Southern California Edison spokeswoman Anna Frutos-Sanchez.
A single car hit a Southern California Edison pole near the intersection of Silver Saddle Circle and Sand Canyon Road just after 5 p.m., said Lt. Robert Lewis of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station.
The collision caused minor injuries, Lewis said.
Power was restored to some areas within two hours, but Sand Canyon Road remained closed at 8 p.m. Traffic was routed through an apartment complex. Edison crews were still on scene at 8 p.m.
