No one was hurt except the Thanksgiving turkey during a fire reported at dinner time inside a house in Newhall Thursday, a firefighter with the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

“It’s nothing too exciting. The turkey got too close to the burner,” said a firefighter who responded to the fire as he arrived back at Fire Station No. 73 in Newhall.

“No one was hurt - except the turkey,” he said. “And the dinner.”
Shortly before 5 p.m., fire was reported as inside a house on Valle Del Oro, east of Newhall Avenue and north of Sierra Highway.

It was quickly knocked down.
