A car fire in Castaic sparked a small brush fire Sunday afternoon, officials confirmed.
About 3:15 p.m., a white two-door sedan was reported on fire at the side of the Interstate 5 by the southbound lanes, near the Whitaker brake check area for trucks, a spokesman with the California Highway Patrol officers said.
All occupants of the burning car were reported out.
Firefighters with the Los Angeles County Fire Department responding to the incident reported a brush fire “5 feet by 5 feet” by the road, he said.
No one was injured and the fire was contained, but the vehicle became fully engulfed in flames, he said.
