A fire at a Canyon Country apartment left a family homeless Thanksgiving eve, fire officials said.
The blaze on Sierra Highway in Canyon Country was the second in less than a week in the same apartment complex.
The latest fire started at 3:34 p.m. Wednesday in the bathroom of a unit at the Sierra Canyon Apartments, 27520 Sierra Highway, said Los Angeles County Fire Department spokeswoman Stephanie English.
English said firefighters had the fire fully contained at 4:20 p.m.
Though the extent of damage was unclear late Wednesday, English said the occupants of the unit, two adults and three children, have been told they cannot re-enter.
It can take several days before people are allowed back in their home after a fire, she said.
Another fire broke out at the complex early Friday morning. Arson was suspected in that blaze.
English said the cause of Wednesday’s fire was unclear and was under investigation.
