Garrett Roberts, a Hart High School student, witnessed Barack Obama's Presidential Inauguration and attended the inaugural parade Tuesday.

He accompanied a delegation of student leaders associated with the 2009 Presidential Youth Leadership Conference, held the week of the Presidential Inauguration and sponsored by LeadAmerica.

This week during the conference, Roberts and 400 other presidential scholars will attend briefings with military and intelligence officers and government officials to learn how the new administration will affect each department.

The scholars will meet with a senior political strategist, receive an inside analysis of the 2008 election and participate in a presidential simulation that includes assembling a transition team, selecting a cabinet and determining key policy initiatives.

They will conclude the week by attending a Youth Inaugural Ball.
