Saugus High School senior Kevin Rae received the Eagle Scout award, the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America.
Saugus High Theater Arts Teacher Leslie Carson served as one of the keynote speakers at Rae's Honor Court at Santa Clarita United Methodist Church Saturday. Twenty advanced theater students also attended the ceremony.
To reach this level, scouts must earn at least 21 merit badges and demonstrate Scout Spirit, service and leadership. An extensive service project the Scout plans, organizes, leads and manages is required as well.
Rae's project was to help refurbish the church's youth building kitchen cabinets and bathrooms.
The project required 200 hours of planning; Rae was responsible for supervising 25 people.
