Just prior to the election, The Signal ran an article titled “Dem leads campaign spending” (Oct. 28). It said Democrat Fran Pavley had raised $1,907,404.59 but had already spent $2,126,773.52.

Pavley was elected. Once again, Democrats prove the old adage about the definition of insanity.

With Pavley confirming how she spends more of her own money than she takes in, just imagine what she’ll be doing with taxpayer money.

No wonder at all why California is on the brink of insolvency.
