Disillusioned about wilderness act

Everybody seem very happy with the newly designated Omnibus Public Lands Management Act of 2009, including both our esteemed senators and Nick Staves.

Doesn't that act require that all man-made endeavors be eliminated, like roads and such?

Like Nick, I used to hike, climb mountains, fish in high trout streams and lakes, ski and skate.

But now I find my knees are in terrible shape. I had one fixed and my doc says I need the other replaced.
So without mechanized transportation it's a huge area of public land that I'll never get to see. I find this an unnecessary imposition.

It's an act for the seriously healthy who want to go there. Now tell me, how many do you think that is? I'm betting I can count them on my hands and maybe my toes.

We handicapped need wilderness areas to get to also, and there's a lot we can't go too now.
