Doesn't that act require that all man-made endeavors be eliminated, like roads and such?
Like Nick, I used to hike, climb mountains, fish in high trout streams and lakes, ski and skate.
But now I find my knees are in terrible shape. I had one fixed and my doc says I need the other replaced.
So without mechanized transportation it's a huge area of public land that I'll never get to see. I find this an unnecessary imposition.
It's an act for the seriously healthy who want to go there. Now tell me, how many do you think that is? I'm betting I can count them on my hands and maybe my toes.
We handicapped need wilderness areas to get to also, and there's a lot we can't go too now.
