Economic group goes for new look

The local economic development organization unveiled a new logo design Monday that leaders with the organization said is intended to be a more modern, bold design.

The new look provides a strong visual element to the Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corp.’s branding efforts, said Stacie House, marketing manager for the non-profit organization. The old logo was made up only of the organization’s name spelled out in a mix of colors without any graphic, iconic element.

“Their logo now reflects the importance, strength and upward mobility of their organization, and reinforces their position as a leading regional business organization,” said Teresa Todd, president and CEO of Point of View Communications.

The bolder, contemporary look aligns with their strong presence in the community, said Designer Steve Dole, creative director for Todd and owner of SD Creative Services.

Earlier, the marketing firm assisted the SCVEDC with a large-scale map project and a trade show exhibit, Todd said.

“A company’s brand does not begin and end with their logo,” she said. “Rather, branding is delivering on a promise with a consistency of message, while establishing a relationship with the intended audience so that people know what they’re getting and can rely upon it.”
