It happened in a flash.

At precisely noon Saturday, more than a dozen flash mob dancers broke into a choreographed routine inside the Westfield Valencia Town Center mall to the amusement of customers, many of whom stopped to record the event on their cellphones.

Not only were the dancers coordinated, they looked surprisingly similar.

Each dancer sported a healthy bushy mustache, all in support of “Movember,” which is short for Mustache November.

The group staged the flash mob event to bring awareness to men’s cancer and health issues.

“Everything went off as planned,” said flash mob organizer Robert Isquierdo Jr., sporting a blue jacket and a blue mustache.

“We brought awareness to this issue,” he said, referring to men’s health awareness.

Specifically, the group’s mission was to draw attention to the seriousness of prostate and testicular cancer.

While dancers were dancing, others in their group handed out fliers about “Movember.”

Statistics according to the flier included:

n 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.

n 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.

n Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in American males between the ages of 15 and 34.

Isquierdo’s niece Jauzlynn had only one night of rehearsal for the flash mob routine.

“My grandpa died of cancer two years ago,” she said. “So this is all for a good cause.”

The group not only brought awareness to an important health issue, it brought in business.

“It brought some people into the mall,” said Obi Betuodakam, who works at Prince of Jewelers, a business near the flash mob site.
