Perhaps Mr. Jawa would like us to fight in Afghanistan riding camels and carrying swords — which is how the Afghans would be fighting without outside forces supplying them with arms.

And what the heck is “acceptable warfare?”

Seems to me acceptable warfare must be inflicting maximum damage to our enemy with minimum loss of life to our troops. That mission is certainly accomplished with the use of drones.

If the enemy is technologically inferior, oh well, tough luck. So the Afghans use car bombs and suicide bombers to kill indiscriminately at mosques and other nonmilitary sites. Mr. Jawa, do you consider this “acceptable warfare”?

And yes, our soldiers, children and families do matter more to us because they are our soldiers, children and families. It is unfortunate that you feel that the people of other countries are more important than Americans.

It is a terrible war, but until such time as we are no longer involved, there is only one kind of “acceptable warfare” — the kind that keeps our boys as safe as possible.
