COC hosts fundraising seminar
College of the Canyons will host a free fundraising seminar, titled "Meet the Grant Makers," on Wednesday. Fundraising experts Adrienne Wittenberg of the S. Mark Taper Foundation and Tony Newhall from the Henry Mayo Newhall Foundation will share their foundations' funding priorities and grant making guidelines.

Attendees also will be able to participate in a question and answer session with the presenters.
The seminar will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center. A pre-seminar reception will be held at 9:30 a.m.

Free seminar for small businesses
Craig Duswalt will be launching his U.S. speaking tour with a free seminar in Santa Clarita called "Marketing Your Small Business on a Shoestring Budget."

The seminar is planned for 9 to 11 a.m. April 18, at the Hyatt Valencia Grand Ballroom.

The event is designed to teach entrepreneurs, small business owners, nonprofit organizations, performers and self-employed independent contractors how to save money on marketing and advertising.

'Caribbean Princess' returns to New York
Princess Cruises, which has its headquarters in Valencia, announced that the "Caribbean Princess" will return to New York in summer of 2009 for a second season of the line's popular roundtrip sailings to Bermuda and the Caribbean.
