Prisoner bus breaks down on Highway 14

A bus taking more than two dozen prisoners back to jail broke down on Highway 14 just south of Soledad Canyon Road on Monday evening.

“A bus broke down and we were called to provide security,” said Lt. Tom Bryski of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The bus was southbound and transporting 28 prisoners, he said.

Inmates are transported daily to and from court for court appearances.

The breakdown was reported around 6:30 p.m. There were no injuries and no other vehicles were involved, Bryski said.
