A San Fernando Superior Court jury is expected to resume deliberations Tuesday as it continues to review evidence presented in the murder trial of Lennie Paul Tracey.

Tracey, 52, of Canyon Country, is charged with murder in the shotgun shooting death of his neighbor Anthony Davis, 51, on Sept. 24, 2011.

Closing arguments presented Friday capped two weeks of testimony at San Fernando Superior Court.

Jurors are considering evidence presented by prosecutors who allege Tracey deliberately killed Davis as the result of a seven-year feud.

But the defense attorney said he shot Davis while protecting his family from what he perceived to be a prowler.

The jury began deliberating Monday afternoon following a morning of instruction from Superior Court Judge David B. Gelfound.

Twice during the trial, Gelfound found reason to remove jurors.

One juror was “excused” in part for having violated his instructions reminding jurors not to read any media reports about the trial.
