A Saugus man who works as a Ventura County elementary school principal has been placed on administrative leave after an alleged road rage incident Wednesday in Saugus.

Gilbert Yoon, 39, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on Wednesday, according to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station booking logs.

A school official told the Ventura County Star that Yoon, who is principal of Rio Lindo School in Oxnard, was placed on paid administrative leave until the facts of the case emerge.

The morning incident happened at Bouquet Canyon Road and Seco Canyon Road, Lt. Mark Hershey of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station said Wednesday.

Two motorists involved in a road rage incident confronted each other, Hershey said.

“At that point, one of them pulled out a knife with the blade out and threatened the other and started to go at him,” Hershey said. “He pointed it at him, he went at him and got pretty close.”

No one was injured.
