Bush should be prosecuted

Apparently the Bush administration was warned two years prior to the mortgage meltdown that a crisis was imminent.

The Bush administration backed off proposed crackdowns on no-money-down, interest-only mortgages years before the economy collapsed, buckling to pressure from some of the same banks that have now failed.

The administration ignored remarkably prescient warnings that foretold the financial meltdown, according to an Associated Press review of regulatory documents.

Bowing to aggressive lobbying along with assurances from banks that the troubled mortgages were OK, regulators delayed action for nearly one year.

By the time new rules were released late in 2006, the toughest of the proposed provisions were gone and the meltdown was underway.

This is the administration that made up lies to invade Iraq, tortured so-called prisoners in foreign jails, created Guantanamo and held so-called prisoners contrary to the constitutionally bestowed right of writs of habeas corpus, encouraged us to go shopping after 9/11, eavesdropped on American citizens and did too many other criminal acts to list here.

Nixon's crew went to jail for far less.

Beyond incompetent, these people are criminal. It's time to prosecute this group and put 'em in jail.
