Canyon Country Advisory Committee meeting Jan. 21

The first Canyon Country Advisory Committee meeting of 2009 will be held Wednesday, Jan. 21 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the George A. Caravalho Activity Center Banquet Room, 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway,
Santa Clarita.

Mr. Rae L. Price, President of Montezuma Land Development, and his team will be providing a look at their newly proposed development, Park Vista Community and Villages, to be located by Golden Valley Road by Sierra Highway.

Paul Brotzman, City of Santa Clarita Director of Community Development, will be sharing his views and answering questions on the city's "Village" concept. Yes, this relates to One Valley One Vision.

City of Santa Clarita Staff members will be presenting information about California Senate Bill 2. This bill, in part, requires municipalities to designate areas where "Permanent Homeless Shelters" may be "permitted by right."

It is that time of the year again and we will be accepting nominations for 2009 CCAC officers. Elections will be held at the February Meeting.

We will review what is happening with the Extreme Neighborhood Makeover project.

Reports from our own members will include; highlights of recent Homeless Shelter Task Force meetings, the Open Space Financial Audit and Accountability Panel meetings, last known status of the Hideaway Apartments purchase by Mercy Housing,

Discuss CCAC's 2009 goals, target issues, projects and include suggestions from our members. Take a last look at Sign Pictures still unresolved from 2008 and kick off this year's program.
