A power outage that hit Valencia around 8 p.m. was the result of a blown transformer on McBean Parkway and Fairview Drive, according to Lt. Tom Bryski of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Anna Frutos-Sanchez, a spokeswoman for Southern California Edison, said the outage affected about 6,000 customers, but only lasted in the range of seven minutes. She said that, as of 8:40 p.m., all power had been restored.

Frutos-Sanchez said it was unclear what had caused the outage initially, but that the matter is under control.

“As of right now, there’s nothing to worry about,” she said.
