'Horizon Line' compassion play shows adolescents importance of cultural learning

Live Performance Wraps Up 'Season of Diversity' Program

The City of Santa Clarita is presenting the final live performance for A Season of Diversity, bringing the 2008-2009 program near to its close.

"Horizon Line," which will be performed Tuesday, Jan.27 at 6:30 p.m. at the Valencia High School Auditorium, is a play that explores the seeds of prejudice and teaches young people and adults alike the importance of compassion and understanding.

"Horizon Line" is one of three Compassion Plays designed by the ENCOMPASS theater program to help students talk about diversity topics in a safe and supportive way.

The Compassion Plays are meant to inspire compassion and personal responsibility, as well as an appreciation of differences among California teenagers.
