The Saugus girls volleyball team continued its hot streak with a sweep against Golden Valley by scores of 25-12, 25-12, 25-16 Tuesday night at Saugus High School.

The Centurions finished the regular season winning eleven of their last 13 games on their way to an overall record of 20-13, 5-5 in the Foothill League.

Hannah Nua led Saugus with 16 kills and Ashley Guthrie contributed 29 assists and three blocks.

The Centurions will now have to wait and see if they qualify for an at-large playoff berth because they finished fourth in league, and only the top three teams automatically advance to the CIF-Southern Section Division IA playoffs.

“To get in you need a .500 record,” said Saugus head coach Zach Ambrose. “We have quality wins against good teams so I think we have a pretty good chance.”

“Playoffs is always the goal. We will see how excited we are when the draw comes out,” Ambrose said.
