Sheriff’s deputies were looking for two men who burglarized a veterinarian’s office in Newhall on Monday, making off with several pharmaceutical drugs, a sheriff’s spokesman said.
“We don’t have much to go on; there was no licence plate,” said Lt. Tom Bryski of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
About 1:42 p.m., the two, each wearing “hoodies,” entered the All Creatures Emergency Center on Lyons Avenue at Chestnut Street, stole some drugs and fled in a silver Lexus, Bryski said.
Deputies were alerted to the possibility that the thieves were headed for Highway 14.
No one was hurt in the incident, Bryski said.
The emergency vet clinic is open throughout the night but closed during the day, when the burglary was committed, said a woman who works at the clinic.
