Newhall residents were jolted Sunday morning with two earthquakes that rattled the Santa Clarita Valley.
The biggest quake happened at 8:24 a.m. measuring 3.9 with the epicenter listed as 4 miles southeast of Newhall center.
A second quake was logged by the Southern California Earthquake Data Center at 9:27 a.m. with a magnitude of 2.3.
There was no report of injury or damage, said Sgt. Ron Price of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The US Geological Survey said shaking was felt across the Santa Clarita Valley, 25 miles to the south in downtownLos Angeles, in West Hollywood and along LA County beaches.
