Magnitude 3.9 quake hits near Santa Clarita

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A small earthquake rattled Southern California but there no reports of damage or injury.

The US Geological Survey says the 3.9 magnitude quake struck at 8:24 a.m. Sunday and was centered about 5 miles east-southeast of Santa Clarita.

Shaking was felt across the Santa Clarita Valley, 25 miles to the south in downtown Los Angeles, in West Hollywood and along LA County beaches.

A sheriff's dispatcher in Santa Clarita said there were no calls reporting damage or injury.
