Red flag warnings were lifted tonight as the Santa Clarita Valley escaped serious damage during the first Santa Ana warnings of the fall.

Winds were due to die down to 5 mph tonight and pick up only to 5 to 10 mph Sunday as sunny skies prevailed into the new week.

The Santa Clarita Valley was due for a cooling trend during Halloween week, with highs in the 80s Sunday and Monday, in the high 70s Tuesday and 74 on Wednesday, Oct. 31. Halloween night was expected to be 58 degrees under partly cloudy skies.
