OXNARD, Calif. (AP) — A former Oxnard school teacher fired after it was revealed she had appeared in porn films says she deserves a second chance at her job.

The Ventura County Star reported (http://bit.ly/VvkSKg ) that Stacie Halas told an administrative law judge on Friday that she had lost herself for nine months and she was worth a second chance.

The 32-year-old former eighth-grade science teacher is appealing her dismissal. In two days of testimony last week, she says she did not lie about her past when confronted by district administrators.

But Assistant Superintendent Sean Goldman testified that when he asked Halas whether the rumors of her porn activity were true, she replied "not that I know of" and denied going by the name "Tiffany."

The hearing is scheduled to continue Wednesday.
