Santa Clarita residents can now dispose of unwanted or used paint at the Sherwin-Williams and Vista Paint stores on Soledad Canyon Road and the Dunn Edwards store on The Old Road.

The state Legislature passed standards requiring paint manufacturers to develop solutions to collect, transfer and process old paint in 2010. Those standards established the California Paint Stewardship Program, which went into effect Oct. 19.
