Santa Clarita city officials will hand out keys to the city for the area’s 2012 Olympians on Saturday as part of the Rubber Ducky festival at Bridgeport Park.
Canyon High School graduate Alysia Montano and former College of the Canyons assistant track coach Lashinda Demus will appear to receive the recognition Saturday, along with family members of Hart High School graduate Anthony Ervin and the parents of Saugus High School graduate David Smith.
Demus won a silver medal in the 2012 London Olympics.
Gold medalist and local resident Allyson Felix could not be reached, a spokeswoman for the festival said.
The Olympian recognition will be part of the fundraising Rubber Ducky Regatta and festival Saturday that raises funds for the Samuel Dixon Family Health Centers, which provide medical care for uninsured and under-insured residents of the Santa Clarita Valley.
The event, previously held at Castaic Lake, has been moved to Bridgeport Park this year. Its signature family-oriented event is a race between rubber duckies, each of which can be sponsored by residents for as little as $5 each.
The Rubber Ducky Regatta runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The Olympians presentation is set for 11:30 a.m.
